Lead Web 2.0 Developer needed – Contract to Permanent – Dunwoody, GA A small successful Atlanta internet company is seeking an experienced software developer to assist in the development of our next generation photo e-commerce system. We’re looking for a senior level developer developer who is self-motivated and can work well independently or on a small development team. This full-time position offers flexible hours in a friendly small-office work environment. Position is on-site at our Dunwoody offices. This is a contract to permanent position. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience required. Master’s degree in Computer Science preferred. 4+ years experience developing and maintaining large web applications preferred. Candidates for this position will possess the following traits and abilities: - Enthusiasm to lead and drive a project to success
- Design systems that meet and exceed the needs outlined by management and business analysts
- Produce high quality work quickly
- Provide accurate project and task estimates
- Communicate professionally with other team members and other staff members in support, sales, and management.
- Do what it takes to make the project successful, even if you do not agree with some strategic or technical decisions
- Willingness to adhere to company policy and in some cases assist in improving or defining company policy
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in the English language
- A positive attitude toward the company and it’s employees
Technical skills required: - Education and expertise in object oriented software design
- Solid experience with Ruby on Rails and/or Flex and ActionScript
- Ability to create intuitive, graphically appealing user interfaces that focus on usability
- Mastery of standard web development technologies: XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX
- Experience with Relational database modeling, SQL, and ORM frameworks
- Experience using the SCRUM development process
- Experience cross browser testing on Windows and Mac web browsers
Additional preferred skills: - JavaScript libraries such as JQuery, Prototype, and Script.aculo.us
- ColdFusion development skills and experience with CF frameworks such as Fusebox
- Experience configuring and administering Windows Server 2003 and IIS 6.0
- MySQL administration and optimization
- Experience with OODBMS
- Experience using the ImageMagick API in server applications
- Web application load testing
- Hardware and software firewall configuration
- Linux and Apache web server configuration and management
- Graphic Design education and experience
- Fluency with Adobe Creative Suite applications
